Lisa Acosta - Myofascial & Massage Therapist - Monrovia, CA

Welcome!

My name is Lisa Acosta and I am a California State Certified Massage Therapist (#15790). I’ve been practicing in the Los Angeles / San Gabriel / Pasadena-Foothills area since 2008. My modalities are twofold, traditional Medical Massage (associates important methods in managing side effects of stress including high blood pressure, anxiety, tension headaches, ulcers as well as prevention of aforementioned pathologies) and the Myofascial Release Therapy (John F. Barnes style Myofascial Release MFR, think physical therapy, not massage). MFR is a very effective hands-on interactive technique that provides stretching, compression and sustained pressure into restricted areas of fascia (connective tissue) in the body to eliminate pain and restore motion. Another area of expertise is the sports massage with emphasis on post-event that focuses on rehabilitating athletes and gym enthusiasts from the side effects of vigorous exercise and overtraining. I can provide your session at my office space in Monrovia or travel to your home.

The power of touch is so powerful! I believe that everyBODY deserves to benefit from a session! I'm excited for you in your quest to experience the natural healing world of myofascial / massage therapy. I offer the following modalities:

  • Lymphatic Massage Therapy
  • Deep Tissue
  • Sports Massage (Pre and Post - will also go to your athletic event)
  • Scoliosis (Myofascial stretching)
  • Trigger Point Therapy / Scar Tissue
  • Shoulder Girdle / Rotator Cuff
  • Piriformis Muscle Syndrome / Pelvic Girdle - Low Back
  • Arthritis / Joint Pain / Plantar Fasciitis
  • Chair Massage (at your home or office for a gathering of 5 or more)
  • Fibromyalgia (aka: Myofascial Pain Syndrome)
  • Neck Pain / Headaches / Sinus (Myofascial Releasing)
  • Gua Sha, Tok-Sen and Cupping Therapy

Each person differs and thus the treatment plan is personalized to each body's experiences of trauma, repetitive stress injury, inflammatory reactions and life stressors. Restrictions in one area of the body can affect the whole body.

Increase the Benefits with Frequent Visits: whomever you seek for a myofascial or massage therapy, consider it a necessary piece of your health and wellness plan. It's an investment in your well-being!

Looking forward to working with you!

Stay healthy,

Lisa
